Looking good BH, the wings look very "tight" nice covering job.

What did you end up doing on the Leading Edge ? and did you do any treatment to the trailing edge

Finished covering the main body as well. I was going to do the main body black but I ran out of that and couldnt get anymore so I used the last of my red up.

Going to make the control surfaces and stabilizer blue to fit in with the rest of the plane.

Overall an average looking sloper (tidy but simple) but should be able to handle the winds when they start picking up again. ATM its going to be a nice wall piece

I will post up the pictures when I finish it this weekend

There are several bullet proof Aileron/Elevator models about like the Canterbury Sailplanes Eraser (bit fugly though) and the Foamworks Fusion is very popular (and better looking).

Had a play with (tried to break!) Simon (Skaffens) Fusion at slope fest, really liked it.. Its on my list of things to look out for

I must admit, the fusion is moving into the "need" list, they look great in the air, and the V tail adds to the mystic

Cheers, um some of the spare riteweave that have left over from the 50 build. I did a covering on the leading edge, over the fiber glass rods and on the tailing edge and then gave it a light sand. Seemed to stiffen it up quite a bit.

If I was to build another one I would want to put a major support like on the ritewings across the center of the wing to just make it that little bit stronger.

For my next build I might put a motor into one of there sail planes. They will need a little extra support but unless I try to fly as fast as jacko I should be alright.

Guy at the local feild has an Arrow with a outrunner on its nose, lipo pack is right at the aft of fuse, it seens to fly well, but with power on the fuselage twists, which screws the geometry too the elevons and makes it roll

Hey BH, thanks for the update.

So the arrow DOSENT have a triangular arangement for its spars ? how do they stop the flex under load ?

If you want a 5mm carbon tube (from a ritewing)for next time just sing out , I have a couple of spares

It has 4x fiberglass rods (2 on the top of the wing and 2 on the bottom), they are connected together with by a little metal plug that sits on the join line of the wings. They are pretty strong, but specially if I was to do a power build I would put a KF rod more towards the back to strengthen that part up a little more. (to make that triangle arrangement which is present in the ritewings).

For sloping its 100% good enough dont get me wrong on that, just i recken the 50 would take a bigger bang thats all.

Alright probably spent 2+ hours soaring this afternoon. The arrow performs very well. Cant moan about any of its habits. If someone is interested in buying one but also scared about wasting some money dont be worried

Next flight I will get some photos of it in the air.
