#1 Helios and XX-Lite
AmpEater Posted on: 2013/1/9 13:24
These two models are getting a name for being some of the best available to buy.

http://www.compositegliders.com/

The helios is a great all round with nice handling plus great launch heights!

The XX-lite is now renowned as the Highest launching Model available. It has a higher AR than other DLGs and also can be built a lot lighter. Can also fly in stronger winds than most other DLGs due to it's slightly higher airspeed.

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1531670

The prices in NZD work out to be as follows:

Kits:
( includes wing, fuselage, tails and all small part's) (Ballast set optionally!)

Helios "samurai"(glass or carbon veil tails) $710
Helios "carbo-line"(glass or carbon veil tails) $685
Xxlite "samurai"(glass or carbon veil tails) $695
Xxlite "carbo-line"(glass or carbon veil tails) $670

I am thinking about doing an order as 4 fit in a box for the same shipping price.

Does anyone want one?

Alex

Hey Alex,

I'm interested in one. Which would be better for a beginner like me?

Same question as Heather^^ are either of them ok to start with?

I have a balsa wing'd dlg which I've played around with but nothing more than that. Been enjoying it recently though.

The Helios is a more forgiving airframe. THe XXlite is more of a performance machine that needs to be flown faster. However, saying that, the Helios is winning contests around the world at the moment.

This is all info I have read online.

They are both foam cored DLGs which mean they are not as fragile as the likes of a Blaster 3. BIG plus!

Put me down for a Helios Carbo-line with a glass tail. Flick me a PM with the payment details when you know them.
