It is the new year and this forum has grown massively and quickly. There have been a lot of suggestions on how to make things better so I think we need to collect all the ideas in on thread and prioritize them.

So this will be the master of all clean up threads. What do you want to see.

1) Clean up the home page - Make it more newcomer friendly
2) Clean up the forums, better lay out - Forum structure
3) Recent replied box alignment - done need confirmation
4) Major flying days thread/event guide.
5) ....

1) Forums structure
2) Home page with maybe some cool youtube links and stuff? something attractive such as floppy yak combat planes to show how simple and safe getting into flying really is
3) The "Recent Replied Topics" title made to fit in the square that it sits on
4) Maybe a thread with major flying days posted up, like all the big ones from around the country. Im sure people would be interested in that.

Other than that its pretty good and seems to work well.

Umm, like it how it is, the latest posts on the left could actually include a few more, I NEVER browse the forums themselves unless I am looking for some old post, I LIVE in the little list on the left hand side

A seperate forum for KIWIRC no......

Let me take this time, 10 months into it to thank Rob for doing such a great job setting and running this great site for all of us.....well done man, very appreciated and its allowed me to create a whole lot of new friends all over the country.

Yeh I agree, I live from that little box. Maybe it could be made a little longer so if your not forums hores like me then you wont loose topics and have to go hunting??

One other thing, maybe setup a donation box or something for donations to help support the hosting and address?

How many members and active members are we up to now??

How about opening up for advertising? Maybe it's time to reconsider it instead of donation. Yea, that little box seem to be the main focus for most, possibly all. I think it'll nice if you can structure it so that it's more diverse. Althou I dont do as much reply now but I do come in quite often :).

Whatever it is, thanks Rob for creating/mantaining this site as I've learn alot thru here :)

Hey thanks all but I just created a space you guys made it happen. Your all a part of this.

Site stats for Dec from Google Analytics

* 5,373
Visits

* 24,993
Pageviews

* 4.65
Pages/Visit

* 31.06%
Bounce Rate

* 00:07:05
Avg. Time on Site

* 20.73%
% New Visits

Not bad seeing Dec was a quiet month.

I am wary of putting advertising on the site as it does open a whole new can of worms about vendors applying pressure to remove bad reviews etc. Although we have seen interesting article and responses and lack of responses.

Perhaps we will put it to a vote. I am not in favor but this is a community so I will post a poll shortly, I will then use that to decided on the best road forward. Donation button will be included in that poll.

As for the replied topics how many do you want in the list? Currently there are 15 and I can change that on the fly fairly quickly.

Matt as for a separate forum for you... well start a thread under the Vendors section. That is what it is there for. I could create a sub topic for vendors there if they wish. Will allow people to address questions directly to participating vendors. Will you guys find that useful? I know Heather (Wattsup) and Mat (KiwiRC) both frequent the forums and there may be a few other vendors that just had not responded to a thread yet? Even Mr Superfly and Mr Ritewing occasionally.

I will pull some more detailed user stats a bit later and post them here. But we are approaching the 200 user mark. Not as many active but a fair amount of that at least log in every now and again it seems. Just seem to be the quiet type.

Again thanks for making this forum a great place.

I know Mat but you never know perhaps people want a nice public place to ask there Vendors questions besides the vendor forum.
