Hobbykings new KK2 multicopter control board in action.
First in the maiden flight of a small hexacopter with very rough PI settings, it needs more tuning but as is stays in the air rather well. And in a larger tricopter that used to be fitted with multiwii, this has been dialled in and flies very well as shown.
I've only ever flown multiwii and in level mode at that, I never felt locked in in acro mode.
In terms of flying the KK2 board is the opposite, acro mode is great, but level mode needs some work. To get more then a handful of degrees of movement out of level mode stick scaling must be turned up but this causes acro mode to be very sensitive. And there is no way of trimming "level" so if a sensor calibration isn't right you end up with level mode not being very level, I hope there is a solution in a future update.
As far as UI is concerned I've never seen a better example in a multicopter controller. Having the screen and everything configurable on-board as a standalone unit is amazing and makes tuning/tweaking really easy.
Over all a great board for the price and will hopefully only get better with updates.

Hi Cardboard.
The KK2 seems pretty stable, and the led readout is a great idea. Good vid.
Here's a vid I found with the KK2 on a tri-copter.
Awesome flying and it looks locked in after a bit of tweaking.
